Trier: one photo at a time

Germany’s oldest city through the eyes of a Kiwi

Winery: One of many

Weinkellerei Förster. One of many wineries in and around Trier

In the residential street Gilbertstraße not far from the Trier old city, you'll find the Weinkellerei Förster, with it's splendidly decorated entry gate. It is one of many wineries and wine cellars in and around Trier.

In der Gilbertstraße, unweit von der Trierer Altstadt, steht die Weinkellerei Förster, mit ihrem schön gezierten Eingangstor. Sie ist eine von vielen Weinkellereien in und um Trier.

  4. Hi:

We are planning to visit Trier during between Xmas and New Years for one or two nights. We would like to stay in a comfortable inn, bed and breakfast, or even winery. There will be 4 adults and one child, 20 months.

    Any ideas?

    Thank you!
    Len

  5. I used to live in Igel, and remember reularly cycling down the Saar, past Egon Müller’s Scharzhof. Beautiful wine from Mosel-Saar-Ruher – much underrated in some countries, even though some of it is among the most expensive white wine anywhere in the world
